This week the boys talk about Aquaman’s beard, “What’s in the Box,” why music sounds different each decade, and joining up with Icon Vs. Icon for a Celebrity Death Pool.
Episode 32 focuses on CANNIBALS, people! But first, we catch up with the two sickly gents and the bubbly cave dweller next door. We ask for your help getting Roxy’s brother Randy on the show. Then, Lee brings us another fine edition of the “Redneck Report” that may or may not feature backwoods rape. “Roxy’s Rack Review” is a double shot of mutant fun with the review of The Hills Have Eyes 1977 vs 2006. You may be shocked with what she picks as her favorite (at the moment). Jeremy piles on Roxy’s Hills review with a painful “Rants & Rambles” segment about how much he hates the ’06 version. Like what you hear? Call in, rate us on iTunes, or just spread the word.
Jeremy and Roxy return in episode 31 to make you smile yet again. Roxy’s Rack Review is full of campy goodness when she tells us about Nudist Colony of the Dead. J-Mo pulls double duty with a new segment Rockin’ Recluse, a sad attempt to bring more NOFX to the show. He then brings us a surprisingly good Rants & Rambles segment. Parker, Frisbie, and Jeremy play a round of the sure to be a smash hit game “Acid, Pop, Cult”. Jeremy then finds out from Faith Von Awesome, Stacy Hoffman, and Ellie Church the best way to pick up a hottie from a convention. Jeremy shares his opinions as well. It’s a good one. Email us at AcidPopCult@Gmail.com. and check out Pool Party Radio and Junk Food Dinner on iTunes or the web. Good times.
Roxy, Lee, and Jeremy catch up after three weeks off. Lee and Jeremy try to prove Roxy isn’t as boring as she claims. They are wrong. Jeremy talks at length about the great new documentary THE OTHER F WORD, A coming of “middle” age tale. We get off track and discuss the joy of having kids. Mudcats = genius television. Remakes aren’t good, but aren’t bad either? Bad movie romances followed by a round table discussing of our own personal screwed up relationships. It’s a long one, but good.
Episode 10 of Acid Pop Cult looses Roxy, but finds a very drunk Jeremy and sober Lee joined by Parker and Frisbie of Pool Party Radio. Jeremy also has a special contest winner in studio serving as his assistant/bar tender. The boys talk pop cult news before jumping into a round of Pop Cult trivia, a first for the show. This show is hilarious. I am not bias because I host it either. It’s just a fun time. Check out the Pool Party Radio guys on the web at pool party radio and @PoolPartyRadio. Also check out Parker’s other show at Junk Food Dinner. Rate all three shows on iTunes or “Razor Blades” will hunt you down and own your backside.
In this episode Jeremy and Roxy chat about the troma flicks “Mother’s Day” and “Unspeakable” and are joined by the president of troma films and the creator of the Toxic Avenger, Lloyd Kaufman (Lloyd talks with Maris and Michael Herz at one point… ain’t no way I cut that out he he he…). Jeremy talks music and bores Roxy to tears. Roxy shakes off a murder plot from our old host Chris, Jeremy spins some Lagwagon, Lunachicks, and our new show intro has Pool Party Radio’s own Parker Bowman giddy.
In our debut episode we talk The Devils Rejects, Idle Hands, and Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. Chris and Jeremy go on an ill-informed journey to find NOFX’s Hardcore (not in a store near you). We talk Flashback Weekend in Chicago and discuss “not so” current events. Email the show at firstname.lastname@example.org, follow us on twitter and like us on facebook . Special thanks to Junk Food Dinner and Pool Party Radio’s own Parker Bowman for the guidance on our first show ever!
